Hey Nuttz

Nice video on the HBFP V2. I took noticed you said to center all trim tabs except the throttle? Can you explain why it's best to leave it down? or When would any adjustments be necessary?

Thanks!

It doesn't matter where it is, just it can't be higher than in center. gen150 If it is higher than in center when you turn on your hb motor won't work. It will arm when you lower the trim

i have had, what we shall call `discussions`,on another forum about the throttle trim.
i have always had mine at centre and have had no trouble or reason to move it,maybe that`s just me tho` orange1

Most folks have theirs set on low position, as do I. But I think as long as it is set at center or lower it is ok. If you have yours at center and it works fine, that's where I'd leave it.

i bought my `Bee`before i knew anything about these great heli forums orange74
so i really did fly mine straight outta the box!
so if it`s a trim that means that you can give the throttle more `power`?
i`m gonna experiment with mine tomorrow, don`t know why but i`m not expecting it to be much different orange78

most of the times the throttle trim does nothing on the HBFP, but on some HBFP's and all CP's the throttle trim has to be at the lowest point for the Rx to arm, but the throttle trim won't give the HBFP any extra power

someone once told me that the reason for the throttle trim is so the mode 1 or mode 2 hbfp tx`s can be manufactured the same.
so if it`s a mode 1 the forward/backward (can`t think of its `proper` name) trim would be on the left and the throttle trim on the right.
mode 2 as we know is opposite so it does sound kinda plausible what he told me orange78
then again maybe i`m just a sucker for a good story :chickendance:

When you take the 0404 Tx apart, there are two switches on the main board that move around the four channels for Mode 1 and Mode 2 (indicated by yellow arrows in pic below).

Ask me how I know... angry032 There are little spider contacts under them, and one of them was messed up causing my servo to flip out.

But when you order Mode 1 or Mode 2, that is the only thing different, is those switches are adjusted. The throttle trim will flip around too, so throttle trim for Mode 1 would be on the right as well.

The reason there is a throttle trim and why you put it on the bottom is that you can shorten the distance of the toggle/yoke to max power. Some people prefer having the throttle yoke at different places for differents amounts of throttle. If you're used to hover at half power, then that's what you want because it makes controlling the tail rotor easier.
