HBFP Clearview or FMS

Hi

I wonder if anyone could give me there opinions on simulators for the HBFP. I have tried the HBFP models on FMS and clearview.

On FMS I find it very easy to fly - much more so than the real thing. I don't actually find it helps me improve my hovering because of this.

On Clearview (demo - 505B) I find it much harder to fly than the real thing. Hovering is much more unstable and the tail spins more.

Does anyone have similar experiences as this?

By the way I am using my HBFP controller with both simulators.

I vote CLEARVIEW!!!

FMS was also for me not realistic enough. Indeed Clearview can seem unstable at first, but that it is like in the real world.

For me, training with the Belt CP model in Clearview inproved my fying with the HBFP a lot. The Belt CP is not to responsive in Clearview, great trainer.

After that I moved on to the T-rex 450 in Clearview. As I was planning on building an T-rex 450 clone. In the meantime I have build, flown, crash, rebuild (Ah you get the picture) the baby. The real thing flies great!
I can honestly say, I've learned a lot from flying Clearview.

If a model is to responsive for you , go to SETTINGS and then EASY MODEL SETUP and try some NEGATIVE EXPO (eg. -20 on Rudder, Ailerons and Elevator). Be aware that on a DX6i radio you have to use POSTIVE EXPO to make the model less responsive around mid-stick.

Alternatively you can also change TRAINING TIME SCALE SETUP, which alows you to slow down time. I didn't since I considered this cheating, can't be done in the real world, will you can change the expo settings on your transmitter.

FMS is great to get you going but eventually you will need a better sim, clearview is great but I prefer AeroFly Pro, an exspensive sim program (if you buy it ) but one of the best.

Also with FMS, did you download the additional models for FMS, there are a few helis that are very hard to fly on it and will make it a bit more challenging.

I will try AeroFly Pro. But I am afraid it is to much for my computer. Tried Real Flight before but that had a problem which shading (crappy onboard videocards )

I took my real HBFP outside today - it was quite calm. I feel I made an amazing improvement - I hovered for about 3 mins :-) - only managed about 15 seconds before !

Having a larger space outside really made a difference. I was not knocking into things all the time and was able to calibrate my own movements. It even made improvements to my indoor flights (small space).

Strange though, when I did crash it started to break things - never broke anything with my many short fly and crash attempts indoors!

Is there a way to try out AeroFly? I just tried Clearview and the problem I had with it was the model ges so small I can't see it enough to be able to control it. I tried different camera settings and it helps a bit but not quite enough for me. At least with FMS, I can see the darn thing.
