it seems the problems never stop,

today i tested hovering in the garage after adjusting the swashplate (1 full week now!)

after some minutes the temp drift began, but not as always, the tail began to wag and some seconds later the heli began to fully rotate in the air!

no ruder control helped, was not stoppable.

i read through the net, some said it can be a broken wire on the gyro, others said the tail servo gone bad.

question is: wtf is wrong?

when the tail servo started to do this i saw the led on the gyro blinking without applying any ruder!

i went from the living room ~22°c to the garage -> ~6°c. can the temp drift make the gyro that crazy?
back in the living room i tested with disconnected motor, when applying throttle the servos gone crazy. tail servo jittered and elevator + aileron servos moved in different speeds so the swashplate tilted upnormal!

are you sure you were able to hover it? if the tail is going crazy, is it spinning crazy? if so just reverse your gyro. What Gyro are you using???

?

i did the swashplate setup, went into the garage and took off.
yes, i mean spinning, thats what the tail did. -> after some minutes the temp drift began, but not as always, the tail began to wag and some seconds later the heli began to fully rotate in the air!

i dont think reversing the gyro of my heli which flew and still fly's is a good idea. if it would spin from the beginning then it would, but not after some minutes flying. the tail servo also had a very bad creep in this moment. no ruder helped to stop that. im having the stock esky 0415B gyro.

i've tested today again in the living room and all was fine, no problems with the servos.

i hope it doesnt happen while flying outside, i had luck it was near the ground so as it began to spin i instandly landed.

was the gyro the culprit or the esc or the receiver maybe? i dont want to crash because of a part which is dying.

I don't know if this info will be relavent, but the manuel for the Telebee gyro says to power up the heli and give it about 5 min to let it acclimate to the ambient temperature. That of course would be when there is a large differance in the outside temp and the temp where the heli has been. Seems to me you would acomplish the same by just letting the heli sit in the outside temperatue for 5 to 10 mins before flying. So far, I haven't had to mess with it.

i never like the stock gyro of the belt cpv2. they tend to turn 45 degrees without any rudder input. I would recommend changing that gyro. I had a crash before because of that gyro. A telebee is good but ig you want really good tail, get the 401 with the 9257 servo. I'm still waiting for the logictech, and see if this is a good gyro.

I think the Logitec is the one FD uses, and he swears by it.

i only have such drifting problems when i connect the battery outside at the field the first time. after 2-3 reconnects the tail holds and i can fly very well.

i won't put a 200€ gyro on a 150€ helicopter Wink

i just wondered why all my servos gone crazy when i lifted the swashplate, not only the tail servo Crazysmile

I find all my gyros are temp sensative, if its cold I usually sit my heli in my garage 5-10mins before I want to fly, then when I start flying if it starts drifting I'll stop, unplug the heli and plug it back in, that usually works for me

thats what i did too. i unplugged the battery and reconnected it several times but the wagging followed by the crazy spin came again. thats why i thought something is dying.

too bad i didnt record it, it really came out of the nowhere.

ok, today was THE day :grinn:

i've adjusted the swashplate now as good i could, also the servos / horns and rods.

tail was ok, nothing crazy like i saw some days ago, so here is my best flight so far.

im proud, after ~3 months hovering around. :prop:

Good job Bro! One suggestion though. It works for me and that is to keep the
high head speed(3D switch) on untill after you land. My 450 is more stable
with higher head speed and it might work for you too. Keeps the heli from
getting twitchy while landing it.

Other than that good job. The FF experience will get you fun flights......Bigger
crash's too. Keep fly'n and filming rofl

hi, thx. normally i have no problem landing this baby but today i was so full of adrenaline and after the fast flying i lost abit the soft feeling to handle it gendly :grinn:
but yes, with high head speed it is much more stable, but with the stock transmitter i have not that much possibilities. when the wind is stronger i go down with idle up, yes.
