How easy fly lama or other coaxial?

Hi all,

I have question for anybody. How easy would it be to fly a coaxial like an outdoor lama? Ie could someone who has never flown fly on without to much trouble? What would it be like to switch from a honey bee fp to a lama, would it be rather easy or is it a completely different beast?

going from a single rotor to a coaxial is about as exciting as watching paint dry Its soooooooooooo much easier its ridiculous but then again it'll kinda be working against you in that if you really want to fly single rotors, spending time playing with a coax will just make it take longer to learn single rotor, BUT coaxs are kinda fun for inside if you are very limited on space (good winter helis) I personally can't stand coax's, too easy to be fun for me.

I think another reason coax helis are so popular is the fact that they look so good. If you notice , almost all of them have really nice, scale looking canopies or fusalages. I often wonder why you don't see more of the single rotor FP and CP helis with scale looks. Most all of them look the same. I guess it is probably because there are a lot more pilots interested in 3D than there are ones interested in scale.

Might as well go to Toy's r Us and get a Tandem Styrofoam heli! Air hogs make an awesome 3 channel tandem. Will not break! 50 bucks! Full warranty! Gets a decent amount of speed! Can't upgrade though...
Like Nutt said, they are kind of boring, but if you want to half pay attention and relax in your lazy boy and fly then i would recommend something cheap and easy to fly!
I personally love my FP helis but i had some fun crashing all my co-axle toys in my house and trying to fly through my man made Loops and tunnels.

I was just considering a Co-axial mainly so people that don't fly could fly with me without having to learn how to fly a single rotor. If someone that doesn't fly can't with a coaxial 4 channel then I really would have no reason to get one....

ahh, well in that case I would get a coax for them, most people can learn to fly a coax in 1 battery if the heli is set up right, a properly set up coax will hover all by its self so it will be really easy for almost anyone, the biggest challenge they will have is throttle control.
