Belt CP V2, Receiver

First and foremost I wanted to say thank you for having this wonderful website!

Second, I just purchased a Belt CP V2 RTF helicopter 2.4 GHz, I noticed when I took it out of the box that the reciver wire on mine is only 2.5 inches long at that. Is this normal? I am new to the RC helicopter hobby and every video I see has a much longer white wire coming from the back of the helicopter. I am wondering if this is normal. Thank you all for your help. I am looking forward to learning and utilizing this website for myself and to help other's. :)

The antenna length of radio systems is based on the frequency of operation. At 2.4ghz the antennas can be very short as with your system. With FM systems the frequency of the signal is lower requiring a longer antenna. There is a lot of wierd science involved but that is the short explanation.
