Hi,

I just got my V2 in the mail! I'm all excite however.... but it's mode 1!!

Is it possible to make it a Mode2? Or can I use my V4 lama TX with it.

Cool. Both my lama and hbfpv2 is 2.4ghz. But the TX's are different. The HBfpv2 TX uses 4 batteries, while the Lama uses 8 batteries.

I was watching your video on attaching the AR6100 receiver to the HBPF 4in1 and want to do this as well. What settings did you use for the DX6i?

BTW, I found a link that tells you how to change the mode on esky TX's.

The V4 Lama TX was much better quality than the Honey Bee V2 TX so I ended up just binding the V4 TX with the HBv2. Works great!

Man this totally sucks. I just burned out my 4-in-1 for the HBv2. Now my main rotor doesn't turn. Where can I get one cheap? My local store has a V4 lama 4in1 72mhz but would that work in a HB? damnit!

This may be a crazy idea... but could I buy a 72mhz 4in1 for a HoneyBee FP v1, take off the 72mhz RX part, basically I have a 3in1 now. And mate it to my 2.4ghz HBFPv2 RX?

In Nuttcaze's video about making the HBFP into 2.4, the 4in1 looks just like the HBFPv2's 2.4ghz 4in1. ....

After examining my V4 lama's 4in1. It looks like they are identical. So I'll go by my LHS and get a 72mhz lama or honey bee 4in1 and hopefully I can just swap out the RX portion. On my lama, the parts are the same, just that the lama 4in1 doesn't have a plastic housing..

Maybe add a fuse mod to.

This fuse can help prevent a broken 4-1 in some cases.

Its a simple solution :bigthumb:

Gues doing a search on fuse mode on some forums or maybe google will give you enough info though.

Awesome! What amps should I use for the HBv2? From all the sites I've read some use 5A or 7.5A or even 10A.

So I bought the 72mhz lama 4in1, ripped out the RX and plugged in my 2.4ghz rx from the HBFPv2. It sort of works.... it's just that the tail rotor is spinning constantly so the heli spins in flight. So no go... lucky it was only $10 but I'll have a spare one for my V4 lama if I ever need it.. A 72mhz honey bee 4in1 would probably work but I can't find any locally.

so I guess I'll just buy another HBFBv2 and call it a $125 learning lesson. I'll definitely do the fuse mod when I get the new one. I'll just use the old HBv2 as parts.

I just got mine last week and did the fuse mod both to the main and the tail: https://myrcguidesforum.forumotion.net/4ch-fp-and-co-axial-helicopters-f7/hbfp-upgrades-can-someone-help-please-t1314.htm Used 10A on the main and 3A on the tail. I got a lot of good info at http://rtf-heli.com/ESKYHBFPV2.html Oh, if I only had the money to dump into a metal rotor head assembly! About my second flight I broke one of the linkages so I did the o-ring mod: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1827435 too.

The co-ax heli and the HBFP 4in1 is not the same. They look the same, but inside, they're different. I think the HBFP v1 and v2 are the same.

For the fuse, you can use for the main 7.5A and the tail 3A. Mine works fine, never blow the fuse. I check the current going to the main motor, only 4A. You use 10A when you put a Xtreme 380x motor.

For the O ring, use only 1 O ring. So 1 side use the standard control link, and the other side use the O ring. O ring is flexible, if you use it on both side, you won't get a maximum result. Since I use my setup, I never broke the control link.

Can we use 5a then if only 4a is the max current. So it's advisable to use a fuse for the tail too? Would a stuck tail motor blow the 4in1 too?

Also where can I buy these fuses less than 10a. The car ones I have are either 10,20,30,40A.

You can try using 5A. Everybody else uses 7.5A and they're OK. The fuse blow first before it fry the 4in1. Even I have 5A fuse, I don't want the hely to fall from the sky because the fuse blow mid air.

Just for precaution, better to put a fuse for the tail

I not sure in your area, but I got mine from Carrefour (like Wal-Mart or K-Mart) and other electronic store. Get a mini fuse if possible. Mini fuse also use by automotive.

I'll look for them but it's hard to find 3A, 5A and 7.5A fuses... The ones I've seen in stores are always in increments of 10A's... damn.

Also would a fuse mod be useful for my other heli's like 450 and 500? Could I burn out my RX and ESC if that happened.

I had a lot of room to fly indoors this afternoon!
Honey bee v2 (just got it Img00210
With the o-ring on one side, I still managed to break the plastic linkage on the other. I hope I don't do that many more times. I also managed to bend the tail boom slightly, but it still seems to fly ok. Got a pretty good hover. Battery on charge now for another attempt at hovering later tonight. I'm going to stop by auto-zone and get a 7.5 amp to swap for the 10A. I use full size blade fuses because they are just easier to work with. It just does not make sense to me why use a smaller fuse with one motor than the other? The thing you are protecting is the controller, not the motor. So, if the controller can push up to 10A without harm, why use 7.5? The question it seems to me is what is the actual rating of the controller, and that be the determining factor in the fuse size. BTW, the suggestion on the videos of sitting down when learning to hover seems to work well for me. I had a couple of good hovers going on that last charge, but obviously at least one not so good one too!

Honey bee v2 (just got it 2009-111

Thanks for all you guy's help. I was able to find some 3A, 5, and 7.5A mini blade fuses from Canadian Tire. I got some JST male/female wires I had lying around and made some cable so it wouldn't require me to solder directly to my HBv2. Now when fuse burns out I replace it easily. I'll make a set for the V4 Lama too.

Check my website for more pics and stuff:

Thanks, I added some text to the pictures too if anyone is interested in making some.

I wish I knew about this before I burned out my 4in1! Now I gotta wait another few weeks before my new HBv2 comes.... I figure I'd buy a complete HBv2 to use as parts..

I'm not too sure myself if I should use a lower amp fuse for the tail motor. So 7.5A all around should be okay? Some use 10A too. Which might be too much..

Im wondering if I should just use 5A. But I don't want my heli dropping of the sky too if 5A is too little and the fuse burns.

The ESC for brushless motor has it's own protection build in. So you don't need a fuse mod.
