Hey I have been away from the electric scene for sometime because I have been with nitro powered boats, buggies and others. The last time I had electric R/C models was when LiPo and brushless were not around. So I am new to matching brushless motor with ESC and LiPo battery. I have a belt cp v2 and I am wondering what would be some mid-grade electronics upgrades for it. To give you what mid-range price for me, take the futaba 401 gyro and subtract 20-35 USD. I have been trying to find lots of information on this but to me its hard to find because I do not know the information on brushless motor and ESC matching and the LiPo batteries.

Upgrading the Belt CP V2's electronics will make a big difference. The motor is fine but the ESC is crap and the ESky HH gyro is less then desireable and the stock blades suck. Also better servos can make a big difference, the ESky servos get real sloppy after a while.

So, what I would do is first pick up a new ESC, 40A if possible, unless you get this HobbyWing, its my favorite

$39.95 - http://www.ka-planes.com/inc/sdetail/13661

Then I would also look into some better blades, my favorites are the Align 315 or 325mm Wood blades, light and track great. I don't really like Carbon Fiber Blades on 450's. too heavy in my opinion. But thats just me

$12.99 - http://www.helidirect.com/align-325mm-pro-rotor-bladeblack-hs115800-p-731.hdx

Then you should look into a better gyro, but my suggestion for that is to buy a used one from either RCGroups or Helifreak Classifieds, I can't justify paying $130-$170 for a good HH gyro so I buy them used, there are tons or Futaba GY401 gyros for sale between $70-$85 on the forum classifieds, pay with paypal just in case there is a problem but it almost never happens, I'm looking to get myself another GY401, I don't mind paying $80 for one and thats usually including shipping.

You may need to buy a better tail servo, the best thing is to buy a new Futaba S9257 rudder servo unless you buy a gyro servo combo.

$59.99 - http://www.helidirect.com/futaba-s9257-heli-digital-rudder-servo-p-4881.hdx

Then you will want to look at servos, prob best to get something like these, cheap but better then stock (cheapest place to buy then is xheli, everywhere else they're $9 ea)

$3.90 - http://www.xheli.com/topromisesg9.html

The Hi-Tech HS-55 servos are nice but won't work with the factory radio. But thats a start. Also I don't mind people pm'ing me, its just usually quicker to get answers posting in the forum because I'm usually really busy orange72 But let me know how it works out for you or if you have more questions just ask, I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can.

Hey thanks for the information, just from watching your videos I have actually got a nice supply of replacement parts for the belt CP because I hate downtime and waiting for parts to come in. Thanks for the great videos and making flying a lot easier for me.
