My hovers are getting long now and I noticed at the end of my last one the battery was warm and the motor was to hot to touch.

Should I limit my hovers or is it safe to run it till the battery shows the first sign of getting low? I.E. Should I only hover for 5 minutes, bring it down to cool for a minute, etc.

Also, I'd like to get another battery.. do I need to wait till the motor cools before putting it in and flying again?

never fly until the heli won't lift off, fly 10 mins max, it'll ruin the battery. But after flying the motor being warm-hot is normal and yes you will want to let the motors cool before flying again

It's better for you to get THIS ONE . Don't never get your battery be under 3.5v for each cell if you dont want to throw it away soon :grinn:

I thought the ESC would cut it off before it reaches a voltage low enough to hurt it?

If the battery is rated at 20 minutes then there seems ample room for the ESC to start dialing it down long before that. Confused.

I'll try to keep it to 10 minutes but considering how long it takes to charge the battery I will have to get more chargers and more batteries. 10 minutes for a 2 hour charge seems a bit short.

Thanks for the link, not sure how to install the device but have it bookmarked.

P3tras gave me a link to an excellent batt at hobbyking, though it was and still is out of stock, I got a couple of other ones that look like they will be good (if they ever get here). http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbycity/store/lithium_polymer_battery_configuration.asp?cap=1&con=3
Here is a list of 3s batteries you could use. I am staying 20C because that's what the stock battery is on the v2. I've seen posts of people flying on a 15C, so I guess it's possible. Most of the 800-1000mah batts here are around $10. Shipping is a bit, and slow, but with other batteries going for $25-40, I think I'll just wait on the slow-boat shipping.

I think it's better to get THIS CHARGER. The stock charger takes too much time to charge a battery, also it is not as safe as the one that I attach to the link. I'm using this one too, very good :bigthumb: . OR even if you want to have a faster charger , you can get the more expensive ones :grinn: . To charge more than one battery at the same time, you can buy a broad balance which is also in the link that I attach. For the device, just simply put it to the balance port of the battery.
