Do you need to get servos for the belt cp to use the dx6i? Or just the tx and reciever? Who is good to order from?

Just the Tx and Rx is all you need. I think I ordered mine from Heli Direct. It came with an AR 6200 rec which I used on my ESmart 600. I ordered an AR 6100 and use that on my Belt CP. You will love that radio, although if I had it to do over I think I would go for the DX7 because I love scale and I could always use the extra channel for lights and retracts, but my DX6i is a fine radio. No complaints whatsoever.

I also bought mine from HeliDirect and I'm VERY glad I did, a while back Spektrum had a promotion that if you bought any Spektrum Receivers from "Authorized" Spektrum dealers then you could get a rebate to get more "FREE" Rx's. That promotion is long gone but when that happened I found out that alot of places that sell the DX6i aren't "Authorized" dealers as far as Horizon Hobby is concerned. An example was Ka-Planes, for some reason even though they sell Spektrum products, customers who bought Rx's from them weren't eligable for the free Rx's from Horizon Hobby, the company that is the head distibutor for Spektrum, JR, etc.

I just like the fact that I know mine came from an authorized dealer, I also got 3 free AR6100's during that promotion.

But as far as the DX6i, I love mine, I'm still kinda glad I bought it over the DX7, I really want an extra channel but really just "1" extra channel isn't/wouldn't be enough for me, if I start adding things that can be controlled by the remote then I'm gonna end up with all kinds of stuff on it Crazysmile

So I plan on keeping my DX6i and then the next Tx I buy will be this

JR X9303 9CH Transmitter - $629.99

Could that possably mean that ole Nutsy just might have a little interest in a scale helicopter one of these days?

nope, aerial photography and videography. The exact reason I decided to learn to fly helis is that on a road trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway, I thought of how cool it would be to get photo and video from soo high in the mountains, at first I thought of rc airplanes because of all the AV's I saw with people using planes but after I got home I kinda forgot about the whole thing until winter came.

I decided to buy myself an rc vehicle for my birthday (dec 11th) and I started looking at airplanes but because it was soo cold I realized that there was no way I wanted to stand outside in the cold trying to learn to fly planes and thats when I saw this video

I could not believe my eyes. I thought it was a joke at first but I watched the entire video with my face 4 inches from the screen. I didn't even have words to describe what I just saw. That was my very first introduction to rc helicopters.

So after deciding that it would be cooler and easier to learn to fly helis (easier since I could learn to fly inside where it was warm, lol) I choose the HBFP and am soo glad I did. But I did not forget my dream of doing some AV/AP and the iggest thing that I wanted to do was get some aerial video of this huge waterfall in a gorge near me. I knew that that would be a video perspective that absolutely no-one in the history of man has ever seen of that area. I thought it would be cool to see stuff from perspectives that no-one else had, guess at first I was just thinking about myself.

But after getting into the hobby a bit more I realized that there was a void of information that needed to be filled, answers to questions explained in ways I could understand, So I tried to fill part of that gap, even if I'm a bit off sometimes, the basic message is easy to understand and makes getting into the hobby a little less overwhemling.

But I really like helping people so its just snow-balled since then. Now I have all kinds of stuff I'm doing in this hobby. I'm actually too busy, I just don't have enough time to do everything that I need to do. That kinda makes me feel bad when I can't get on the forum to help answer questions but when I do get time to come on I see that you guys have already helped sort out most problems and a heck of alot quicker then I could.

Thanks soo much for that :bigthumb: :bigthumb:

Back to helping and AV/AP. Well since it has been soo much fun helping people I realized any cool AV/AP I got should be shared with everyone. So I want to get better stuff to take better video and photos. Better stuff but there is no better heli for me then my ES600 so I'll still be using them, lol). I started doing that but I still have yet to get the original video I wanted and that is the biggest reason I want to get better stuff, once I do I will finally go get the video and pics that I originally set out too.

Here was an experiment I did a while back of flying in the gorges. Its kinda intimidating because where I want to get video, if I crash I will NEVER get my heli back.

the problem is where I want to get vid of is lower then where I will have to stand, theres only one place that I will be able to take off and land my ES600, it'll be interesting to say the least
