PostSubject: My: Marcs ES600 rebuild   Sat Oct 17, 2009 9:17 pm

Hi,
marc and rc guides members I had decided to pull down my ES600 and rebuild it to the
specs of marcs videos and including the DX6i settings.
everythink has gone along just as it should except when I powered up the heli I had the
tx throttle in reverse and nearly had a very nasty accident from the flybar. quick fix
but hey I nearly censored myself ( please excuse).
I have only to balance and track the blades and recheck all the other items and I
should I hope be hovering around the back yard.
Do you know guys I have found by following marcs videos on building the ES600 ready
to fly and his DX6i settings to be a fantastic and I hope marc that you never stop making
them for us.
I will let you know how it flys.
Also I have had my ES500 just sitting here waiting for my servos to arrive dont the waiting
just give you a pain.

Well guys,
thanks,
fitzy orange60
PS,
I also got another reply from E_SKY that they are still in revamping the ES600 and that
they will keep me informed of the progress. I have also said that I will purchase one as
soon as they release it being old or new model.

Well I got the blades tracking perfectly much better than before.
Only prob is that the tail is so sensitive that the slightess touch on the stick puts it
in a major spin even when its in h/h the tail is so quick to move anyway i hope i can adjust to
quiteten it down a bit.
I not sure why but since i rebuilt it it seems to have gained some extra horse power
crazy i know.
new servos futaba s3151
tail futaba s9257
new gyro futaba gy401
new transmitter spectrum dx6i

i broke my verticial tail fin what do you think about getting one cut out of aluminium sheet
with the laser cutter and proberly about 2mm to 3mm thick with the edges feathered off
I think that the weight would be about the same or at least not much difference.
I have glued the other together and they would be able to cut an exact copy of it.
Let me know what you think.

Anyway by for now,
fitzy

Well with your description of your rudder response it sounds like something isnt
right. It shouldnt spin wildly with the slightest touch.

As for the V-fin I dont think it would hurt. My thought is what will it cost to have
it made? If I did have one made, I would make it solid without any slots or
cuts in it. That is what makes them weak and break.

Any pictures???

suriano,
I am going to alter my lazy susan so I can test the heli on the bench as it maybe
I dont have the pitch of the tail blades set right.
No I dont have any pictures at the moment and if I did I not sure if I would know
how to put them on display.
I think you maybe right about the verticial fin I will ask the guys today if I get
a chance. one with slots and one without.
Anyway I will have to go now as I need to go and earn some cash to pay for my
best heli ever ES600 and all its little brothers.
Thanks for your reply and comments,

fitzy,
orange60

Haha, I'm such a bad influence orange68 you just can't escape the ES600 though :prop:

I think your gyro needs to be reversed, can you get it to hover before it starts to spin uncontrolably or does it start spinning while its still on the ground? On mine when the gyro is reversed, I can actually spin it up quite a bit before it goes crazy but it'll never has time to leave the ground before spinning.

But if you can get it hovering but the tail is just super sensative then just verify the gyro is set for a digital servo and recheck your servo limits. Also check that the servo linkage is moving freely and not getting hung up somewhere.

Also try adding some + expo to the rudder channel

Suriano
You know I am going to make my own fin as the guys who I know well said that
it would be $100.00au because it has to be drawn up on the cad.
Anyway it was a fleeting moment in my mind.
They have given me some sheets to use so lets see what I come up with I dont
have to rush as I have one coming and I hope its this week.
and you know I dont know why I ordered it in the first place I must of known
somethink. :giggle:

Marc,
I think you may have hit it on the nose as if I am right I should have the gyro servo
selection switch in the on position for digital servo.
I remember when I was checking the instruction sheet my servo number was not
listed so I left the switch in the off posistion.
I will go back over all my tail setup and see how stupid I was and if I am not going
to look to silly I will let you know how I went.

anyway guys its past my bed time.

Thanks again,
fitzy. Crazysmile

Yeah I used to have a lot of custom stuff built for my racing quad (four wheeler)
and I know how much that stuff cost. Sometimes you get lucky and they will
do it cheaper because they themselves want to do it.

I have been wondering if we can find a sheet of CF and cut out our own pieces.

Well guys,
I was wondering why when I turn on the dx6i and then plug in the heli the gyro led
flashes all the time but the receivers have a solid light. ( GY401)
Then if I turn unplug the heli and then Off the tx. And then if I turn on the tx and pull down
the gyro switch on the tx and plug in the heli The rx lights go solid and the gyro flickers
and then goes solid. Then I can use the tx switch in off or on (h/h) is this the norm.
You know I will have to write myself a start up procedure because this is sending me
a little further round the bend.
I think that I might go back to the E-SKY 0704b at least I new what was happening.

anyway if there is anyone that can put me right.
thanks,

fitzy. headbeat

Hi guys,
I have not been able to do anythink with my ES 600 untill now because I have not
been able to charge the batteries.
Now I am up and running to trim the big fella.
I took it out in the back yard put it on the rota-pod to see how it would spin up. tail decided
to spin out of control again. NUTTCAZE was right again I needed to reverse the gyro
Then all I had to do was track one blade with one turn of the link.
As you may know I rebuilt the heli using MARC's build thread and Dx6i settings
and it is spinning up just great.

I have just hovered it around the yard for now but I have no doubt that it will fly like
a bird with very little more to be done if any.

I am just thrilled that I have able to get these results from just following the book
as some may say

Marc as I have said before you do make very good instructional video's.

Thankyou,
fitzy. :bigthumb:
