| Batman! But you can't get it for ANY price. I've been waiting for a week, and neither Xheli (at $59) nor hobbypartz (at $44) has it in stock. Does anyone have an opinion on whether or not this transmitter and receiver package at $44 is better than a DX6i with an A6100 for $140? (I'm paying attention to Nuttzie who has said that a dual antenna system is crucial for larger helis). Oh, yeah, thanks, Nuttzie for all the vids. What would I gain with the Spektrum, besides the ability to switch models and re-program without the computer? I have a raptor G2 PE with upgrade package (2200 mah batt, volcano ESC, and Alpha 400 brushless motor, as well as a carbon fiber main rotor. This heli comes with a 72 mhz transmitter and a surprisingly expensive $54 receiver, which has stopped working. I'd like to have a 2.4 ghz tx/rx for ALL my helis, for now and into perpetuity. I also plan on getting the E-Sky ES600 full metal edition. Any reason why I shouldn't buy the Exceed Tx and 2 Rx instead of the Spektrum, which has only one Rx, and it isn't dual antenna? Think about it! This is a tough choice. Or maybe y'all know more about it than we poor Texans. Mark? What do YOU think? Mick PS Got a response from Mary at E-Sky, re: my request to start making the E-Smart again. She tried to sell me on the 900 series, which Nuttsie has already said is to be avoided. Here's what I got from her, in her adorable broken English: NO acknowledgment of the pending reissue of the ES600. And what about her suggestion to get the: Newest 2009 Esky Belt CP Version 2 * CARBON Edition * w/ Brushless Motor, ESC, LiPo Battery, Head-Lock Gyro 100% Ready-to-Fly ** HOT ** The BEST Esky Helicopter $399 from Xheli. Is she right? Is that really a CF 600 class RTF heli? Sorry for being doubtful, but at $399 complete, it's sounds too good to be true, but after all, I AM a noob. From: mary@esky-sz.cnTo: mick_lester@hotmail.comSubject: e-sky Date: Wed, 1 Jul 2009 11:19:41 +0800 Dear Mick, How are you? This is Mary from E-SKY sales department. First thanks for your support to E-SKY products. It is a pity that we do not produce E-Smart now and I will let you know if we reproduce it. And I am glad to tell you that our 900 class helis EK1H-E050 will come to production this month. You mention you are ready for 600class helis, so I think our Belt CP v2 is your best choice. Enclosed please find the picture. Could you please tell me your address, so that I will tell you the nearest distributor so that you can buy helis there. Any other question please let me know. | Hey Everyone, Please keep in mind that ESKY classafiess their Helis diff. than we are used to!!! They go by Main Rotoe Dia... So to them a 600 would be a Belt CP... the ESMART is what they call 1000!!! | |

| ... at least to some degree. So E-Sky measures rotor diameter. What do WE measure? I thought it was length in mm, but the specs for the belt cp say it is 650 mm in length, so I'm missing something here. Perhaps they turn the rotor parallel and include it in the measurement of length (?).
... and thanks very much for the tip about where to find the Tx/Rx combo. I ordered it today.

| Flew my 450 last night in the gym. Wasn't a fun night. Was all ok till everything seemed to go completly haywire. The easiest way to describe the destruction would be to list parts that survived. Gyro, 1 servo, reciever, battery, motor and canopy. lol the tail support was wrapped around the head. Main shaft is bent in 3 places, lfybar looks like an S, 1 servo stripped, 2 with bloken cases, tail housing was in 3 pieces. Somehoe 1 blade holder was facing the wrong way lol. Destruction was total.
Anyway...I couldn't think of any one thing that would cause it to do what it did. Found the problem though. Checked the TX settings on the laptop and part way through the flight the TX went nuts and reprogramed itself. Some of the settings when I checked it
end points all at 100% nothing reversed subtrim all at 0 DR all at 0 stick Mode 1 throttle curve 0-25-50-75-100 pitch curve 65-65-50-25-0 swash all at 0%
I know all was ok before I flew as I replaced blades before I left the house and it was running fine when I set pitch and blade tracking. You would think that I would notice it being in Mode 1 lol. Oh yea, the batteries were new.
IMHO the Exceed TX is junk and headed to the landfill. Biggest mistake I have made with RC heli was to buy 1 | |

| That's something to think about. Sorry about your heli, too. After all the TLC put into these little copters it's like they're carrying our DNA with them!
I suppose I'll just use this Tx with my Exceed RC Raptor G2. I don't want to wreck that one any more than another, but I'd be pretty upset if I finished putting together the ES600 and the Tx destroyed it!
Thanks for the heads up.

| Tough luck man. It's bad enough when you crash due to your inexperience, but worse when it's not thru any error on your part, but because of some electronics or mechanical failure. The first time my Belt crashed, I hadnt even touched the sticks yet. The heli just started glitching and flipped over on it's side. that was painful, and you are helpless to do anything about it. Thats why I now have a DX6i. So far (knock on wood) I have glitch free flying. Donnie D | |

| it can def be hit and miss with the cheaper stuff, but I have yet to have any probs with my Exceed Tx and I've put alot of flight time on it.
But I wouldn't compare it to the DX6i, the Exceed is an upgrade over FM systems but if you can afford a Spektrum then by all means that is the one to buy. | |

| hey with the exceed Rx with sat-light rx can the antenna's be trimmed shorter cause there real long compaired to the esky rx where its like under an inch and also the placement of the sat RX i placed that one on the nose above my battery in my belt cp and the ,main rx part where the stock one was is that bad? i figure one ant on each end of the heli whould get a better signal | |

| DO NOT shorter the antenna! Signal will be very bad! Or even there will be no signal! | |

| After several hours I finally got my computer to recognize the USB - UART cable. I had to go onto Silicon Labs website and download their CP210X drivers.
The supplied driver is for "PL2303", for the Prolific chip that's in the USB. Vista and XP are both telling me I have "CP2102", which is from Silicon Labs chip. Is it possible that Exceed switched chips in their production???
----
Now my computer recognizes the USB... except when I open up T6Config, the program just stops/"hangs" in one location when the Tx is powered on. If I turn the Tx off, but keep the USB cable attached, the program just resumes like nothing happened. I know the Tx is sending signals, because everytime I flip it on, I can watch the green calibration bars at the top of T6Config readjust to wherever the yokes were. In that brief split second before the program "hangs", it'll pick up the signal briefly.
I know the Tx works fine, because I've already binded it to the Rx, and all the channels work correctly. I just need to reverse channels 1 and 2.
I've been going at it forever. Tried it on both a Dell desktop with XP and a Toshiba laptop with Vista. Same outcome for both.
Does anyone have any idea??? | |
