What the difference between the III and IV? the IV is sold out everywhere, but appears to be cheaper than the III. Input?

I see, should I assume the IV comes with the lipo? I have seen it both ways across the various vendors, is there a model that is supposed to come with it? I figured I would get a lipo or two anyway, even if it came with the nimh.

The Mark 4 has the NiMH battery. It weighs slightly more, but costs less. The Mark 3 has the LiPo battery. It weighs slightly less, but costs more. I have no idea why E-Sky has named them this way. You would do better to decide which battery you prefer, and if you want 2.4Ghz, or 72 Mhz. and look for those features in the ads. I have heard that the HBFP is going to be dropped soon except for the 2.4Ghz version, which is very hard to find at this time. See Nuttcaze's website for recommended spare parts, you will need them. This is a difficult Heli to fly for a Newbie.

The HBFP with the LiPo is the one to get. E_Sky is dropping the FM line of their helis because the whole industry is moving to 2.4Ghz technology. I still think the FM versions are better values though, the HBFP is only meant as a trainer to get you ready for CP's without spending a fortune in the process. But learning to fly the HBFP won't be any harder then learning on any other heli but its the cheapest and quickest way to get to flying CP's orange80

PostSubject: HB Mk3   HoneyBee Mark IV I_icon_minitimeWed Jun 03, 2009 8:33 pm

I got tired of my emails dropping into a void regarding 2.4 HBFP(except here) so I decided on the Mk 3. to my surprise price on Xheli is $69.95 so I got the heli and recommended spare parts - and then some orange71 for the same price as the 2.4. heli alone ...I have come to the conclusion that you're right even if your opinion is different that the info I got - I think the guy in China got his wires crossed - only makes sense to dump the 72 in favour of 2.4...
I won't be flying the Mk3 anywhere near anyone else so 72 shouldn't make a difference...
Sale price on 72MHz would also seem to prove your point. orange5

Got it from X-Heli (refer original post) orange60
Just got shipping confirmation - I must admit I was half expecting a "whoops" on the pricing, but I now think there will be more bargains on the 72MHz as they are replaced by 2.4...I hope! smiley-happy057

XHeli is selling the MK3 (Lipo version/72Mhz) for $69.99 for a Fathers Day sale. Hobby Lobby (in China) just got the 2.4 GHz Lipo version in for $109.99 (?) plus shipping. The XHeli one is obviously a much better deal. BTW, XHeli has the Thunder AC6 Charger back in stock for $54.95 again. Great charger at a great price!

Speaking of shipping, parts on several US sites about $5. Unless you happen to live in Canada (about 300 miles from US border) then it cost $20. plus. Just curious, about how much does it cost you guys to get a heli shipped to you? My freight on the MK3
and parts was $31. and change. orange3

watch the coupon codes for xheli... "cjfree2" is free shipping over $100. "Fiveoff" is $5 off $50 or 100, i cant recall. Just google xheli coupon codes, you will find a few that work-but like most online shops you can only apply one per order.

I think Im gonna bite the bullet. Is $16 a good deal on another lipo for this thing? or are there better places?

Nah, $16's too much. I'd go for this one - Link

But there could be even better options.
