| Looks like a pretty good buy! You will have to purchase a good gyro, tail servo, reciever (if you have a Spektrum type transmitter) and a battery. Still, all in all it would not be a bad deal! I found a web-site where you can purchase a T-Rex 600 with motor, ESC, BEC, battery for reciever, but no main blades for $350. I figure you could build up the heli for somewhere around 700 to 800 bucksif you shop around for the rest of the parts you would need! Not a bad deal either. | |

| I don't want to rain on your airstrip but,,,, I must offer this to you about NITRO!!!! It is a pain in the !!!! It is way more work, mess and expance than electric!!!! Since having the "G" it is clear to see!!! And at least comparing the "E" And "G" the NITRO "G" does NOT have near the POWER that the ELECTRIC "E" does!!!! There is quite a bit more work with NITRO also!!! More support stuff too!! You will need a battery for your starter and the STARTER and fuel, a pump for the fuel.. you will need spare GLOW PLUGS They DO burn out!! And you will need a Glow starter and keep it charged too... And now about the MESS!!!! The oil get EVERYWHERE!!!!!! The entire tail gets coveredthe whole side where the exhaust is get covered also.. The nitro/oil fuel get all over your hands,,no matter how hard you try!!!! It also gets on your TX.!!!! BUT it is cool as too!!!! There is something about it that is just cool!!!! The smell the sound!!!! It is really obnoxious!!!! Your neighbors WILL object and complain!!!!! But the SCREAMING thru the air is cool!!!! And smell of burning Nitromethane is SWEET!!!! As I said I'm sorry if I'm sounding like a bummer but I figured I had to give my 2 cents!!!! | |

| yeah i hear what your saying and its all true but my main reason for getting the nitro is i don't want to buy battery packs ive seen there like 150 -300 bucks for one battery and i would wont at least 7 or 8 batterys... and other reason is IS SO COOL the sound bad a$$ plus when gas is low fill it right back up but heard u gota wait a few min for it to cool down.
if any buddy else want a nrtro heli for under 400 bucks u get a raptor titan .50 with motor and mufflar

| Yup the battery prices SUCK!!!! But keep in mind that 30% nitro is bout 30 bucks a Gal. And it don't take long to burn a gallon!!!! When I buy as second nitro heli, and I will!! Its gonna be the OUTRAGE VOLICITY!!!! That heli ROCKS!!!! I also want a OUTRAGE 550 badly too!!!! If the CNC stuff is as nice on them as on my G5 it is insane cool!!!! That head has like over 100 ways to set it up!!!! I've got it set on the tamest settings and it is still so agile I almost crash it cause I can't keep up with it !!!! | |

| im gunna look into the OUTRAGE VOLICITY maybe i should get something differnet since everybody and there mother owns a t-rex (brand) it would be nice to break away from the pack of the norm ..... plus u said u can set it up a many ways witch sounds good i love tweaking heli's and setting them up im getting good at it....was such a pain in the begining but now i can do it perfect when it comes to the head just takes me 3 to 4 hours to get it right i want perfection if i can (Fatdaddy) i posted this question somewhere else and PM'd nuttcaze but no replys yet what the MAX pitch range u can get a belt cp ive got 8 - + seems i can't get any better then that cause i got swash low as it can safely be at without anything contact with the frame got and exi metal head on it too i can get 12 -+ on my copter x no problem with all the same TX setting so im thing its the design of the heli thatt is limiting me
juat double checked something and when i set up my 0 pitch at mid stick to get 8 + - i noticed i did my set up with a LINEAR curve should have i done my head set up with my 95 90 85 90 95 curve cause i changed it to that and now im off by 4 degrees now and would prob get 12 + - now I THINK but i might have this all wrong.....i was told to set up they head at mid stick with a LINear curve is that wrong??????????

| As far as I know, you should be able to get 11 or 12 degrees both ways!! I'm gettin 12 with my HBK2 so I would think for sure you can get that with a belt.. The nice thing about the OUTRAGE's is the adjustabillity of the head, From beginner to expert and many, many settings in between.. the metal head AND tail are works of art..!! I'm really very sad that I have a hard time keeping oreintation of the G5!! It is so killer to fly, but if I keep it close I do OK and it is really good to learn loops and rolls with cause it has soooo much power !!!! The Voloicty is brand new but looks really sweet!! It ain't cheap at about 550 for the kit but there are NO upgrades needed!! That is the same for all the OUTRAGES,, they come stock with all the top line stuff!! | |

| i figured it out im using a exi metal head from my exi transpro zl and a belt cp main shaft with that and its to short so i can only get 8 + - or do something like 12 + and 4 - or (10+ and 6-) 11+ & -5 thats it.....ne body know how to make an exi head work on a belt cp v2??
hey FD just looked at the OUTRAGE VELOCITY 50 NITRO nice price for that heli that comes this the motor right?? im really thinking about that heli kit now cause i have enough cash to buy it other wize i gotta save up another 300 hundred for the t-rex 600 ... do u think its worth getting over the t-rex 600?

| There is no question in my mind that the TREX is not even in the same class of Helicopter.... I think the Outrage is 1000 times better!! Many more adjustments!! Touqre Tube tail drive stock..And like I said, there are NO upgrades needed!! But..... I don't think it comes with a motor!!!! I think it comes with the pipe but not the motor!!
Sorry I can't help with your belt, I just never worked on one!!!

| hey FD? dd u convert your exi 500 to a TT tail? i thought maybe i read that somewhere?
i think im gunna order the exi 500 CF kit and just put it to the side and just hang onto it for a later date cause who knows how long this kit will be around right

| The Exi 500 is a beautiful piece of work, albiet a clone of an Align heli, as most in China like to do. I don't know how prolificly different the parts are for Exi vs Align.
You can add the TT tail and your own nose buggers as you see fit. From what I have seen, Exi doesn't have a TT, yet. That's just a matter of wanting one! The TT from Flasher is reported to be crap.
The Exi 500 is an awesome piece of work, as it stands right now. Kent

| Yea Burton my friend, I did add the TT tail drive!! I got the Align kit, bout 90 bucks as I recall.. It is a direct fit, bolts right in no sweat at all.. It works great, but it is LOUD!!!! Lots and Lots of gear noise, it seems to be very powerful.. I don't know how much better it is than a belt other that being more efficient, takes less power from the motor to drive the tail rotor.. But is sure is cool!!! IMO.. I've made many mods to this heli.. When I got it I kinda decided I was gonna max. it out.. so to speak. It has the entire KDE CNC parts upgrades, finned motor, align wash out and flycage arms upgrade. Stuff like that!! I love it!! It rips!!!! I just whish I could fly it up to what it is capable of!!!! | |

| nice never realized a tt would be so noisy....plus when u crash it cost more to fix the tail due to the TT.....
i think im gunna place my order tomarrow if my check cleared that i deposited and like i said above just keep it on the side and when i get in the mood to buy parts for it i will.... this way it wont feel as bad when it comes to putting money into it......i def gotta get a bigger heli set up soon its so hard to see the 450 when im flyin sometimes....
and of course now im loving the Outrage Vel 50 that you were telling me about its sooo nice and soooo narrow...im really having a hartd time desideing if i want the t-rex 600 or outrage ...on one hand you got the awesomeness of the look and tunning ablity of the Outrage or a nice and simple Align 600 witch parts are easyier to get at LHS and alot quicker and easyier to work on....also its nice to have something different then the what everybody else has...
i don't need all the tunning ablity of the outrage but it nice to know its there if needed

| yeah i can't wait should be so much more stable then the 450 its so hard to see like when im out 100 yards + when i make my figure 8's or maybe im just to far out anyway.....
i find it easyier to fly when i have to fly in a certain area where like you got a huge area but there trees around you to keep in in there .....i went to a huge park with nothing around me and had all the room in the world but then that makes me fly farther and its harder to see cause theeres no contrast in the background......least with trees or anything like that it makes you heli stand out better to see it and keeps in in an area...

| Try hovering your 500 in a double car garage which is half full! It will defintely keep you on your toes and CONCENTRATE! I do this quite often to keep my skills up! | |

|

| Subject: Re: EXI 500 Fri Oct 30, 2009 9:53 am | |
| No, I had to make my own servo spacers and I think cget had to make his as well. I used some 3mm model plywood and painted them black. I will try to get some pics. If you ordered the exi500cf kit, it comes with cnc servo nuts which means two things, 1. the screws that come with most servos are self tappers and wont work with the cnc nuts, 2. if you use hytec 5245's you HAVE to use spacers which makes the hardware that comes with the kit too short. You will need 2mmX12mm machine screws ( the ones in the kit are 2mmX10mm).
