Ok you people that fly and charge your batteries in the field,

Soon reaching the step where I'll be needing a field battery, been reading aoround a bit and wondering what you folks use?

Lead acid seems to be the cheapest, gel cells are nice since they tend not to leak from what I can tell, would like to know your expriences with these.

I used a motorcycle battery before but that was for glow plugs and an engine prop starters, so what do you use? And what do you like or dislike about it. Figure on charging up like 2500mA batteries for my 450/other.

Thanks,

Tristar

I am a telephone service tech and I am outside all day so I'm in and out of my service vehicle all day as well. I made up a cigarette lighter plug so I could clip one of my stock Esky chargers to it. Most mornings I will run at least one batt thru my HBFP and Belt CP, and then I charge them during the day while I'm working. That setup should work just as well with the Thunder A6 charger I just ordered today. I'll know when it arrives.
