Any tips for turning the HBFP V2 during a hover?

This may sound simple and dumb, but I've gotten the tail in hover down pretty well with this heli, but every time I try to keep it stable and just turn to point in another direction, I begin to lose control. I'm not sure if I'm losing altitude or it just starts to slide (keep trying to focus on stabilizing it), but I'm having a pretty hard time spinning it around in a fixed little area. Any thoughts/tips.

Was so easy to do with the Lama V4.

As you are hovering start a foward movement with the heli. Walk behind it and keep moving foward. Practice this for awhile. When you feel comfortable with this, try turning the heli slightly, but stay behind it. After you get this down follow the heli again,but when you go to turn it stand still and turn it. then go foward flight and follow it again and turn it again. I've worn a path in our drive way following mine.

Also keep in mind that the tail rotor pushes air to the side causing the heli to want to move in the opposite direction. When turning and pushing more air to the side beyond hover you have to slightly, very slightly, counter act with cyclic. Ever see them vids where guys are piroing super fast and staying still. It almost takes a complete, but again slight, stirring movement on the stick to keep it in one place.-

also remember when turning the helli you have to make the tail follow.
if you turn left with the left thumb so does your right thumb and vise versa, you have to use the tail to help point the nose when in a turn. your thumbs will work in unison with each other.
so, if you turn rihgt the nose of the helli will point upto the left so you have to use right rotor in the tail to get the nose level. the more you turn =more tail ----the less you turn=less tail

Rule #1, don't get in a hurry when learning anything new.

Rather than trying to hover at 90 deg, try 45 deg. I'd not try moving forward just yet. Just practice hovering in front of you, and move the tail 45 deg right or left, then see if you can keep the cyclic stable for a couple of minutes (seems like forever). Then move 45 deg in the other direction, and hold. Cyclic control gets weird when the tail is not pointing towards you, and it takes time and practice. Remember, baby steps will reduce crashing.
