ESC Programing Cards

In looking around a bit on this topic, I'm getting the impression that programming cards for ESC modules are mfg specific. E.g. I have a 30A Volcano Series Speed Controller Fusion Power that came with my Blue Ray 450se. I see there is a controller card for it, my question is, are there generic programming cards or you you have to get the card for the particlular ESC you have?
