Ive been reading about the poplularity of direcr drive tail mototrs, and was wondering if there are any other requirements to put one onto an HBFP fuses etc??

you can wire it in directly with no mods, but most choose to do a fuse mod in the process

How you mount your DD tail motor can make a difference. Many of us use the monster truck strut to mount the motor:
4530 blades LXHHW3 $5.25/6
Dura Tex Ball End (motor mount)[2 in a package] LXPR63 $4.49
The part numbers are Tower Hobbies numbers.
