slowly saving for my next heli after having a `Bee` for a "while" and i`ve finally decided it`s got to be a CP heli after listening to a lot of great advice in here.
i`ve kinda narrowed it down to a choice of a Blade 400,TREX 450 or a TREX 250
i know a lot of guys have said the Belt is a great next step up but the Esky`s don`t really excite me. this next heli is gonna have to last me hopefully a couple of years so i wanna make sure i really, really like it
if anyone`s flying any of these great heli`s i`d love to hear your thoughts/views/advice regarding how great they are(aren`t?) the only thing tho` is try not to make it sound too complicated;remember i`m a CP
I would definitely get a trex450, this heli is very precise and flies great. if you want some thing reallygood, get the trex450, make sure you put some good electronics there also maybe a ds420 align on the cyclics, and ds520 gor the tail with the align gp750. or you can go to helidirect and they have pretty dood combos there.
hey thanks guys,it`s looking like the TREX 450 so far i`m a little dubious about going for a kit form because it`s my first CP and i`m not sure at all if i`d be able to assemble everything 100%
Have you checked out the CopterX 450 AE. It's a Trex clone but I have read some good reviews about them, so good in fact I have just ordered one from HobbyDaddy.com. On special at the moment too I am no where near ready for a wallet busting Trex so I have opted to try one of these little beauty's
Don't worry, I guarentee you'll be able to get it built with all the brains here on the forum and the Finless Bob videos. You know we'll all help in any way we can. NOW! GIT ER DUUUUUNNNN!!!
I feel that you should buy a clone and learn how to build it. Just my 2 cents. CopterX or EXI much cheaper and you need to learn every nut and bolt to get the knowlage of RC heli operation. If you buy a ready to fly heli, it is possible that it wont be correctly setup and you will crash it right away.
These heli's need and require maintanace on a regular basis so I say take the time to build one and really learn the ins and outs of the heli.
True there is guys on this forum, myself included, that will help you if needed.
just checked out the copter x that Axel has just bought and it looks amazing! i`ve seen this heli rtf for $360 but the tx looks a little basic.any ideas how much you get charged for them actually building it for you? if i were to buy the kit how hard is it to fit the rest of the electronics? say if i built it myself, would i be able to fit far superior electronics for the same prics as rtf? i know you all say to get a arf but i`m not sure at all if i could do it,i feel like i`m letting you guys down saying that. i do listen and take in all advice so i am at least now thinking about arf,try not to be too hard on me guys(my mind is spinning)
I am totally new to this too, and after reading and watching many video's I decided to take the plunge. I have already had to strip down and rebuild my V2, I would not of been confident enough to do it if I was not a member here There is a wealth of info and help always at hand. I wanted to build the CopterX kit as a stepping stone to gain experience before getting the ES600
There are also plenty of vids on youtube about the CopterX too and it's a fraction of the cost of a Trex 450
axel, i`ve just watched the whole of finless bob`s vid`s about building the TREX 250 here http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=109075 and i thought "too many things can go wrong" then i saw his "first flight evaluation" and i was like what a FANTASTIC heli so i`m not saying i couldn`t do it with the help on here,i just think there`s so many things that have to be just a fraction out of sync(even on my simple `Bee)for the heli to be not right for the guys that have already built theirs i may seem slightly apprehensive but as i said, there`s so much that can go wrong
I too am aprehensive about the CopterX I have ordered, but at the end of the day if I don't try I will never learn. I have always been a 'hands on' type of person (that's why the Wife married me), (well thats what I like to think))
I personally do not think there is any better way of learning than by being practical and trying. If you went for the CopterX you are not forking out a fortune so if it did go you wouldn't have to fork out huge amounts for repairs, unlike the Trex, if it went pear shaped with that, then you are talking about a lot of money. I have already downloaded the build manual for it so if you want I will email to you and see what you think. Let me know.

No it's not . It's a streched 450. It uses 350mm blades and 6S power! its the only b450 built to use the Hi Voltage. It runs a lower head speed then the other 450's.. Full crazy 3D at 2700.. It ain't cheap but it is worth everypenny!!! I think.. It is soooo smooth and stable, Fully programable head, from mild to widl. And a good thing bout that is the manual tells you what does what!!! Check it out!!!!

Cool Those landing skids looks 'strange'. They are similar to SJM skids.

Yup P3 them skids are funky!!! But they do keep the tail off the ground, which is,I guess the reason for their design.. I do really like it.. Out of all my fleet the G5 is by far the most advanced design, and let me just say it does tear!!! Even set how I have it, Mild handling, I still needed to tame it down. Using the 6s/1300 pack you still just use a 40A ESC!!! They recomend the HobbyWing Platinum 40A, I easly get 10+min. of flight time!!!!

I too would pick the G5 over a T-Rex, looks much nicer, quality looks better and best of all you wouldn't end up being another T-Rex fanboy, lol, that last part is a joke

Looks like a good heli though....

Yup the motor wires were rubbing the first flight!!!
i know the canopy is HIDEOUS but anyone how it compares to the TREX 250? i`m just wondering if it`s as good the COPTERX 450/TREX 450 comparison?
