e-sky belt cp gyro installation

hi i have just bought an e-sky belt cp helicopter but i noticed that the gyro it came with is still in the box, i bought it 2nd hand and it looks as though it has never been fitted. do i need to install this gyro and is it necessary to be able to fly without one also i could not find the on-off switch but again there is one i the box can anyone help me pleeeeaasssee!!!

First of all

While I guess technically you don't HAVE to use the gyro, it is really difficult to fly without one.
Which gyro did your Belt CP come with (0704A or 0704B)? This will determine how to mount it on the heli.

And what on/off switch are you refering to? The heli itself normally doesn't have an actual on/off switch. The battery is either plugged in to the ESC or is unplugged.

hi i have got a gyro with a blue top and the numbers ek2-0704 on it.i have seen where it should be sited but dont know how to wire it up.does the one end go into the receiver and the other end connects to the server the middle of the heli? forgive me if i got it totally wrong but i am new to this and dont want to destroy it on its first flight.any helpwith how to wire it up would be greatly appreciated.

You are pretty much correct... The lead from the gyro will connect to CH4 slot on the receiver, and the lead from the rudder servo (attached to the tail boom) will connect to the gyro.

Just be sure, when you have it all connected and the excess wiring tied back and out of the way, that after you plug in the battery you WAIT and DON'T MOVE the heli until the RED LED on the gyro stops blinking. While the gyro LED is flashing, it is initializing, and won't do that right if it is being moved.
