| The price has definately got my name written all over it. The light set I have on my Bell runs off of a 9v batt, but have a lead so they can be operaated from the Tx/Rx as well. Only problem is I only have a six chan radio, so all the channels are full, as I'm gonna control my gyro thru the Tx with the signal lead. If I ever build a heli with retracts or a light I want to turn on and off thru the Tx/Rx, I 'll just have to control the gyro manually. Donnie D Matt 4 : 18-19 | |

| Interesting. I was wondering the same thing because I dont think I can run the GY520 without hooking up the gear switch. If I go scale I would need a better than a DX6I to control retracts and such. Most of the scale helis I like need retracts. In fact is it even possible to run a gyro that has to have 2 channels on 1? | |

| Not sure what you were saying. However I think you can run 2 servos on the same channel,. For instance, when I scale out the cockpit of my Bell 47, I will need 2 aileron servos, obviously you would need a splitter wire of some kind so you can run the 2 servos off of the aileron channel. | Hey DonnieD you can use a Y-connector on any channel just do not use the thorttle channel or the channel that you have your Gyro plugged into. Also it is best if you run 6V battery pack this ensures that you will not have any brown outs thru Rx.

Donnie D Not sure what you are talking about either???? If I had a scale model, what good would it be to hook retract servos to any other channel using a y-connector? Are you confused because you dont understand that some gyros use a rudder and gear channel? The GY520 uses both and my 401B uses both. So to clear it up....How can I use the gear/retract switch if my gyro needs it? Not to mention if I needed anything else on a seperate channel. I think a RX with more channels is needed. My GY520 had a bad wire on the gear channel and it wouldnt work, so that means with a 6CH RX how can you use retracts on the heli if the gear channel is used for gyro?

| suriano, IF you have a computer Radio you can assign the switch funtion to any channel i.e. Mixing any channel on a computer Rx can have a switch mode assigned to it, at least on my JR radios anyway. and I am sure Futaba is the same { Never used a Computer Futaba Radio}. But like I said before not the thorttle channel as I have seen this cause troubles and the Gyro signal channel. Its my fail I should had been I little more clear the rudder channel can be used as well i.e. hooked up with a Y-connector and connected to the Gyro. Does this clear up what i said before? Sorry my falt.

| I understand what you are say'n. Only it doesnt help me understand how I could use retracts on my rudder channel. Unless I program the gyro to be in normal mode with retracts down and in flight hit the gear switch to raise the retracts and at the same time put my gyro in HH mode.
Could work that way.....

| suriano, Well what radio do you have? to make it easy if your radio has Elve D/R switch or aileron D/R switch you could use either one of them for your retracts. Just need to assign it to do that. I do not use D/R on my Helis anyway.

| DX6I is the radio I have with AR6100 on the 450 and AR6200 on the 600.
I dont use dual rates either. On the RX I have no other place to hook up anything. The DR involves the servos that would control heli flight right? How could you hook up retracts that are either on or off to a switch that only controls rates of the servos controlling heli flight?

| suriano, You can assign the D/R switch to act as the retract switch the Tx gives you the option to do this. You will have to mix it in the radio and use a Y-harness off one of the channels like Elve or Aileron channel. The manual will tell you how to do it. it is easy.

| sdjb, Are you saying to activate dual rate switch on say the Aile channel, but set rates for both switch positions the same? Then use a y connector with two servos, one for Aile, and one for the retracts. When you throw the duel rate switch the retracts would go up or down, but the Aile would function the same because the rates are set the same? Would this work? Donnie D Matt 4 : 18-19 | |
