Hi Mark. Many years ago i had an rc buggy, and when i crashed it (very often) i contacted a local metal engineering firm and got them to make me a 'Stainlees Steel chasisis. It was flexable but didnt break .
It weighs a little bit more than the plastic but lasts forever.
