ON-OFF switch

What do you guys think about adding an on-off switch to your helicopters. Seems like it would be a good idea as it would eliminate the sparking you sometimes get when plugging up the heli. Also if you had a problem, it would be a lot easier to cut the power off. I guess you could use any small slide switch like you would find at Radio Shack or somewhere, and I guess you would just cut it in to the red lead from the ESC. Does that sound right?

Good question Donnie, thats something I have seen on other hellis and was going to ask about it but always forget.

Maybe someone that has installed one or knows someone that has will weigh in. Just seems like a good idea to me.

I've always thought a switch would be a good idea but I think I heard somewhere it was a bad idea, but I'm not really sure.

I wonder why. If you find out any more, let me know.

I think, you should try. Just solder it to the ESC -(black) wire

The "sparking" is perfectly normal, it's the capacitors on your ESC charging.
Castle Creations makers of ESC's actual state in their FAQ if you don't see or hear the spark, don't fly and send your ESC back for repair.
