| Bit confused,
I have read the how to's etc as I am trying to work out the charge rate for my battery.
It is the EK1-0186 11.1v 1800Mah 20C.
Doing the maths "presuming" a charge rate of 1c the charge rate should be 1.8Amps? However the battery states do not charge higher than 1Amp is this correct or do the Esky batteries not handle 1C charge rate?
I notice this same warning is on my 11.1V 800Mah 20C batteries from Esky aswell.
I am going to be using a Thunder AC6?
Thought I would double check or is it a typo and it should say do not charge higher than 1C instead of 1A?
What does anybody else use to charge their Esky batteries? I will be getting a couple more of the 1800Mah (probably not Esky though) maybe they will allow a higher charge rate?

| Here is what I think, so someone else chime in as well. If you will notice, the charge rate goes down the closer you get to the end of the charge. It depends on how "charged" the battery is when you start. For instance, when I charge my 5 cell, 4000 mAh batts, I set the charger to charge at 4.0A, but it will then start charging at about 2.6 to 2.7A and gradually the rate will go down as the batt charges. Just before the batt reaches full, the rate is down to .1A. The charger will automaticly set the correct rate at the begining. If I had run the batt down more, the charger would have started out at a highet rate. I think. Donnie D | |

| Yeah, it should be don't charge at more than 1C rating. I charge my 1800mah esky battery at 0.9A. But if I am in a hurry I charge it at 1.8A | |

| Hey Pitt, Got my Imax B6. Seems to be okay I have been charging my esky batteries with no probs at the moment, 1800mAh at 1.8amps and my 2100mAh at 2amps. Not had any issues as yet, they have been charged 10 times each since I got the charger I have only been using balance mode and have used the discharge mode once. Not used fast charge yet as it doesn't balance the batteries. AxeL | |

| Great, I am again in 2 minds! Really cannot decide.
I'm ordering on thursday, all depends on 1 thing though.
if I go for the Exi it will be the Thunder AC6
If I go for the CopterX it will be the imax
I just cannot decide which CopterX CF 450V2 or EXI 450-ZL
I can't find a seller who has the copterx & the Thunder AC6 and I don't want to pay too much in postage. I'm a bit of a scrouge where postage is concerned. All depends which heli really, gotta have good parts availability.

| Hey Pitt I have to say, that my first choice would of been the Thunder AC6, I got the Imax purely because I had a voucher from Paypal and had to use within a certain time, there wasn't an AC6 on ebay at that time. Hope this helps you make your mind up Axel | |

Axel Nope! Exi or copterX thats the question that will decide it really. This CopterXWish it was not a blue head. or This Exi 450$72 dollars postage on this though that really does me off. $32 postage for the Thunder AC6 @ a price of $54 for the unit. Postae really makes me cringe.

| For some reason I more like copterX than exi 450ZL. I don't know why. Maybe because copterX has more parts, and it looks more like normal rc heli | |

CopterX has more parts? Are they easier to get hold of? I am swaying now to the CopterX aswell it has to be said. I thought you could use Trex on either if you wanted? Or have I read that wrong.

Any pics of the copterx? I ordered the CopterX (CX450-10-06) 430XL Brushless Motor & 50A Brushless ESC with BEC It has some mixed reviews, but for the price I thought I would try it BEC stands for Battery Eliminator Circuit. The battery it is eliminating is your receiver pack. The BEC is a completely separate circuit from the rest of the speed control. It is generally a one to two amp linear regulator that converts the motor battery voltage to a regulated 5 or 6 volts to power the receiver and servos Will get some pics up at weekend

I thought you could use Trex on either if you wanted? Or have I read that wrong. You see, copterX is almost exact clone of trex, but EXI 450ZL is semi clone. So as all trex parts will fit on copterX, you can say that it has better parts support And EXI 450ZL uses different frame than trex

| It's a done deal, CopterX it is. CopterX CX 450AE V2 Kit andthe airwolf fuselage is going on it. Will have to start a build thread when it arrives. HobbyWing (P30A3) 30A Pentium Brushless ESC orslightly larger because of the fuselage? HobbyWing (PCAHESC) Program Card for Airplane / Helicopter ESC HobbyWing (UBEC3A_6S) 3A Switch-Mode UBEC Any recommendations on a motor and what size battery with the above? Not too expensive though! I have had a word with the boss, I'm keeping and fixing the belt cp andusing that to practice and building up the copterx in the meantime so she has allows me to gets some (not al yet) bits for it. Using the Futaba 7C TX & Rx, with a view to getting a spare Rx and putting that in the belt so I do not have too many Tx's hanging around. I'm going to get the AC6 and put up with the extra on postage for that, decided against iMax.
