| I just put this gyro on my EXI450. WOW! This is awesome Gyro. It self centers the servo for you so no trim or sub-trim needed. All adjustments are made using a push button and led light. This thing holds the heli like it is on a rail.
I just wanted to mention how good it is if any body is looking at it and wondering.
Also this thing is tiny tiny..............

| Thats the thing about the 520. For $25 more you get the best futaba gyro out there. I paid $173 off eBay. It also has optional pc interface for the Guru..... 520 gyro on eBay | |

| Shoot, if I had spent 173 bucks on a gyro, I wouldn't be able to afford a servo. I just have to reach up and turn the thing by hand. Donnie D | |

| Donnie your a Goof ball..................
I am running the futaba S9650. I heard the same thing... It is meant for all sizes of heli and meant to be better than the 611. I have never used a 611 and that was what I was going to buy. But after reading all the reviews about it, I took the plunge.
It was meant for the Esmart but that thing doesnt ever want to fly. Looking for new big bird for the 520 though........

| I was just goofing off of course. Where did you say you bought yours? Sounds like it is easy to set up. If it is as good as it sounds, it would be worth every penny. Donnie D | |

| Thanks. Keep us posted on it's performance. I have a Telebee I'm gonna use for my Bell. That's what I have on my E, and it seems fine. Not that I have a lot to compare it with, and I have my E set up on "slug" mode. I may just upgrade the Bell and/or the E later. I plan to do some kind of scale fuse for my E and my Belt CP after I finish the Bell. Donnie D | |

| I use a GY502 on my one ES600 and a GY401 on my ES600, my ES500 has my Telebee on it. After going from the Telebee to a Futaba it was night and day, not that the Telebee is bad, still one of my favorite gyros, but the Futaba gyros are just awesome.
When you guys are looking for gyros, one thing to consider is getting one from the classifieds on RCGroups, I bought my GY401 for $70 (perfect condition) and bought my GY502 with 9254 servo for only $120 (works perfect). The 9254 servo alone is worth $120 new. Buying used stuff can be a gamble but pretty much all the sellers on RCG have good trader ratings (kinda like Ebay) so getting ripped off isn't something I worry about too much (but always a possibility) and boy do I like saving money.

| I started looking at the 502 when you mentioned it and the 401 before that. The price on the 520 is really good when compared to the 502,401 or the 611.
I have only flown 3 times with it and now converting to all CF frame, but it is super nice and so easy to adjust. Like Nuttcaze said with his, its night and day between the difference. I was using a xmhobbies g401B which I though wasnt to bad untill I got this 520....

| well, what happened was when I originally say the ad for my 502, I thought it was the 520 at that time I didn't even know there was a 502 until after I paid for it But it worked out because its an awesome gyro. But I do plan on getting myself a 520 soon. I REALLY like its compact size. | |

| I did check out the outrage 550. It is spendy but what turned me off the most about it is the replacement parts cost. It does look to be a great heli and I am keepin it in mind because I am looking for a replacement 550. I still like the Thunder Tiger Raptor 550E. It is said to be a rock and needs no upgrades to do the most demanding of 3D parts. It will be a decision hopefully made over the winter and for next summer I hope to be sporting a new heli..... | |

| im liking the 520 cause it seems like u can protect it better by putting it more in the frame since it is so small did u get the usb cable with your purchase and do have to buy the usb in order to set up the gyro? | |

No I didnt get the pc interface and it is not needed to set up the gyro. You set up the gyro like an ESC using a flashing light and a mini button on the side. The instructions are excelent.

FD, Honestly I dont remember. You know how it is looking on the web at 10 different shops. I really like that heli but I am looking for a cheaper more tame heli for the next build. Have you looked at the Thunder Tiger Rapter E550? Price is right and the mechanics have been used for a long time. Also it is easily converted to the E620 Raptor. Check it out. The reviews are outstanding. This would be the go to heli, I think. I am keeping an open mind though as I dont know the amount of money I will be able to spend. I am looking for a 550 though because I have everything for it.

| Yea I did look over the Raptor and I do loke it alot.. I had planned on getting a Rapotr 90SE at some time.. When I looked it was the 620E and like you said is really a streached 550.. What I like so much about the Outrage is that it CAN be set up really tame or wild, and it comes in G10,silverCF or blackCF starting around 425 the same as the TT 620E anyway good luck hunting..I've still got a CFPro "E" unopended yet!! Plus a metal plus the CFPro I fly!!! | |

| ok i got kinda of a GOOD problem i just found a deal for a futaba gy520 gyro for 140 shipped with a code i got for buying items a few months ago or should i just stick with the tried and true 401????????? withc itonly 20 bucks cheaper no brainer right? | |

| Yea I think it is a no brainer!! If you can get the deal you meniton then go for the 520.. I think the 401 is past its time. There are so many newer gyros and newer tech. that the 401 is old news. Now don't get me wrong, I'm sure the 401 is a good gyro but if it was that good they would stop introducing new ones.. | |

| even though there are a bunch of new gyros out there dosen't mean the 401 is past its time, if it was Futaba would have replaced it by now, but its still in their product line because its an awesome gyro and also their best selling gyro.
But if I had a choice I'd def get the 520.

| I think the 401 is way over priced for what it is. I cant believe they dont lower the price. I guess why lower the price if people will still pay for it. I def. would go 520 over 401 and I did.
I hope to have the esmart fixed and I want to put the 520 on that. I havnt had much flight time with it though to see what it can really do.

| I did not mean any disrespect to the 401!!! I just meant it seems to me anyway that there are so many NEW gyros that maybe there just holding on to it because (like you say Nutts) that it is there best selling one!!!! And that all the good/great things about the 401 have been put into the 520 along with the new advancements..!! I never ment to suggest that it is not still a killer good gyro..!! | |
