PostSubject: ESC programming question   ESC programming question I_icon_minitimeTue Sep 29, 2009 7:33 pm

Hi
I have a E-smart ES600 chopper with a Align BL75G 75a speed controller. In the programming it asks to choose different timing modes depending on the type of motor (2 pole low, timing...6 or more poles, medium or hard timing)
Would the stock motor be a two pole? ...or any idea how to find out?

regards
Daryl

Low timing should give you the most flight time I think.....

With these brushless outrunners, it is best to keep the timing in the middle!
Mid timing or 15 degrees. Especially with 6-8+ pole motors.
If you want more power, you can experiment with higher timing, if you have an ESC that supports that.
If you only have low, medium and high settings, only use medium timing.

I have experimented with timing, and have the ashes to prove it...

Experimenting with timing on a cheap ESC?

My CC 85HV has low, standard, and high.

It says Low may slightly decrease rpm and current draw and will give
longer runtime, cooler motor and batteries.Preferred setting for out runners.

Standard is the best balance of power and effciency for any motor.

High may give increase in rpm and current draw at the exspense
of runtime and hotter moter and battery.

The esmart flew great on low and my Esc was cool, motor and battery cool.
