So recently I joined the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). It is $58 per year. Joining the AMA has many benefits but the best reasons are that you will be covered by insurance in case you heli/plane hits something or someone. And it allows you to fly with almost all RC Clubs. I joined so that I could fly down at my local hobby shop (LHS) As most of you will have this hobby for a long time if not the rest of your life. You should consider joining the AMA too.

sweet, welcome to the club, I sometimes think joining the AMA should be a requirement of owning a big heli, I gain more respect for my E-Smart every time I fly it.

Another good thing is when you feel confident enough, you can go fly at almost any funfly for usually minimal $, great way to get some pro advice.

Hi Nuttcaze
I also just joined the AMA. I think the rate is reasonable for what you get. It's cheaper than the local club I'm looking to join. I'm still waiting for my Heli. to come ,but i'v been practicing on my new Esky simulator. :prop:

Thought I would give it a try. I don't really have any club that I know of in the area but I thought I would check it out anyway.

Hi cgetman02:
Check out the AMA web site and you can check your location for a club in your area, that's how I found the one I'm looking at. The scary part is I went to their web site and checked out the members listed and found one of the guys works at the same factory I do. :crylaugh:
