I tried to set up a poll for this but was too dumb to know how, so I'll do it this way.

If a company started selling a 450 t0 600 size fixed pitch heli with brushless motor and belt driven tail, would you buy one?

No, I don't see any point in going backwards. A brushed motor on a bird that big would have to work way to hard.

Sorry about thart. I just edited the post, I meant to say brushless motor.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Belt CP and I think I'm gonna love my ES600 even more. I was just wondering. Would be nice to have a large heli with the brushless motor, the belt drive and the simplicity of a fixed pitch head.

Just thought this would be a fun poll.

Hey Donnie D,

Well the closest I would come to a FP heli of that size would be maybe a Falcon 40 (not sure if that is 400/450 size or not). Since I live in Colorado (rather windy here, few really calm days), all I've read about FP heli's is that they don't handle the wind well. Same as for like a coax heli.

Related to that, I though the CP Pro I got was a good investment, now I'm not so sure in that from what I'm hearing may be easier to learn with the Blue Ray first, then play with the CP Pro. And the upgrades to give it a nice frame, CNC, etc... cost as much as the heli does to begin with, lol.

In the 600 range, I don't see it. If your really going to spend that kind of money to learn how to fly, I don't see folks looking for a limited performance heli. Now if they made one cheap (not brushless) but like a Falcon 40 only 600 size, lol... I still think for the price, most would look for an inexpensive way to start.

Don't pay attention to what I have, I'm just a loon. Intersting topic though.

would be great if you could get a 450FP that could be easily converted to a CP. Something that was cheap to learn on then upgradable as your skill lever improves

That's an interesting idea too.
