| First of all, this is something I read about some time ago. I don’t try to take any credit for the conversion, I’ll just try to explain how I did it on my receiver. I’ve seen some wiring diagram’s, but never a photo do it you’re self instruction. So, that is what I’m trying to do here. To do this conversion you MUST know, and be familiar with how to solder. The first thing you do is to open it, then cut away the plastic strip who covers the ch. 3 & 4 contact’s.Click on the images for fullsize[img] [/img] Then take apart the rx and the gyro/speed controller, put that away you’re not going to do anything to that one.
[img] [/img] The next step is to locate the contacts for ch. 3 & 4. Those are the one’s you’re going to reposition. Unsolder them, and put them on the other side of the main board.[img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img] .[img] [/img] Now you have to solder them into they’re new home.[img] [/img] When you have soldered them in place, you have to solder a pin to the signal point on ch. 3 and 4. So it should look like this.[img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img] And here it is back in the box.[img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img] And now, completed… Green light, everything’s good to go.[img] [/img] [img] [/img] To get power to the ESC, just cut the wire from you’re 4in1, and solder the wire from the ESC to it. That’s the easiest way to do it. Use shrink tube, and it should look something like this.[img] [/img] [img] [/img] Greetings, you now have a 4in1 brushless controller. You can use it with both brushed and brushless motors. I have a brushless main motor, and a brushed tail motor (for now that is) By the way: the way you have converted you’re 4in1 now, the rx part get’s the power from the ESC. So you don’ cut the + wire from that.
Here is the wiring:

So you can go totaly brushless on you're HBFP for about 50,-usd
Main motor: 12,01,- ESC : 16,95,- Tail motor : 7,99,- ESC : 11,20,- Total : 48,15,-usd
I’ve ordered a motor i'm gonna use as tail motorhttp://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=5358&Product_Name=18-11_2000kv_Micro_Brushless_Outrunner_(10g)and a ESC to controll it: http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=4318&Product_Name=TURNIGY_Plush_6A_/.8bec/6g_Speed_ControllerI’ll keep you posted on how that work’s out. | |
