Subject: Really confused about the Esmart 600 Tue Jul 14, 2009 1:32 pm
I hear about how good the ES600 fly's.
Well I have made every Heli I have come across fly perfectly even with some of the cheapest equipment you could imagine!
The ES600 on the other hand is a huge disapointment! It doesnt matter what I do or replace I have a metal edition that is the biggest waste of money I have ever spent.
Unless I am the only one around that received a kit with every part being mis-machined or bent!
Or my rulers are mis-printed and my calipers dont read right.
or others fly with a vibrating shaking mass of heli and think thats just the way it is.
I am very capable of working on heli's but for some reason the E-smart only vibrates and shakes itself to death. The most uncomfortable heli I have ever flown.
I am tired of replaceing brand new parts that were bent or warped or mis-machined.
I dont recommend the E-smart 600 unless you have the time and extra money to deal with the chance you might get one of these really bad kits.
I dont expect any comments just wanted to voice my opinion that the E-smart 600 is not a good heli for anyone.
Heck if I was rich enough I could replace every part on the esmart and maybe have a good fly'n bird, but then if I was rich I wouldnt have bought the e-smart and bought something of quality with a company that would stand behind there machine.

Fatdaddy, Thanks for the offer..... Might take you up on that.....
I just received new CF tail blades. I am going to install the blades, tighten the belt a little and take it out again today. Well in about 20 min.
It does fly smooth but thats only when the vibration isnt affecting the gyro.
Right now the skids are vibrating and the tail is shaking up and down..
I have to tell you I have been working on this heli for 2 months try'n to sort the problems out. Should have have been a 2 week process not 2 months and counting.

I'm really at a loss for why you're having so much probs with your ES600. The only thing I could suggest is the same thing as Fatdaddy, pay for shipping and I'll get it fixed for you. The ES600 is a very smooth heli when its set up right, I can compare your to mine and see what the issue is, Just a thought.

suriano, I would take Fatdaddy and Nuttcaze up on there offer. Sometimes we fight a problem so much that a 2nd party that is new to the problem will look at it from a different point of view and see something that may have been overlooked. I probably have the worst setup on my Esmart that there is. Plastic version, only thing I did was to upgrade to a metal swash. This version was known for the tail to be sloppy as could be in the grips. Mine move a good 1/8 inch in all directions and there still on there. I refuse to upgrade unless it creates a problem. I'm not rich and can't really afford 100 bucks for a battery so I went to Homedepot and got the 18V nicad powerpacs for the Milwakee power tools. Got 2 in a pack for like 50 bucks. Tore the packs apart and made up 2 packs that are 18v @ 2400mah. They work fine but weigh a lot. My tail blades are also scraped up pretty bad on the ends from hitting the pavement a bit to hard and yet there is no vibration in the tail. My blades touched the pavement and ripped part of the covering off and I still used those blades with a little vibration because I didn't feel like rebalancing them. The other day I through on a set of new blades and never bothered to balance them. This is creating a vibration now but not so bad that I can't fly it. I am going to take them off and balance them out today but the main point is that even with a setup that is less than perfect, the thing flys and hovers well. I should also add that before I scraped the tail blades and the covering of one of the main blades tips that this thing had absolutley no vibration in any way. Of course that was after I had first set it up.

So after changing to 95mm CF tail blades and tightening the drive belt it smothed out quite abit.
Sorry to complain to much that should tell you how frustrated I am with this heli.
Anyway it flew the best it ever has and only the skids vibrate now. I tried to get video of it but you just cant see it really.

Well you may have taken care of it!!! All skids (on the E's) vib. like a mother and there is nothin you can do bout that... Even mine with the nitro pro 600 align gear there is still some vibs. But I would still be happy to look it over for you if you get to that point!!!

I must have gotten a really good kit when I bought mine. Mine is as smooth as silk. No vibes in the skids. Only the very slightest vibe notaceable at the bottom tip of the vertical stabilizer fin.
And I have the coil spring mod that I did on my skids.
By the way Suriano, where did you get those tail blades. they are really sharp looking.

Thanks guys !!! I think it might be good to go if you agree that the skids will vibrate on most ES600's.
I have been fly'n since Feb. of this year but I have a year of Realflight sim. under my belt.
I almost feel bad for posting my frustration now... You guys are great and didnt tell me to piss off at all. Thanks...
As for the tail blades I got lucky off eBay again. I paid $9 and that includes shipping from Helidirect. Model# DY-0951
I have heard about the drastic problems the heli will have with tail problems but I didnt think it would be that bad. I learned a thing or two thats for sure.
This is the best forum I have evr been on! You guys are full of support!
Thanks again!
