This is my set up

The Cheap Way (the set up I use, except I bought some bling too)

ES600 Plastic Kit w/ Motor - $199.99 http://www.helidirect.com/product_i...roducts_id=2105

DX6i - $179.99 http://www.helidirect.com/product_i...roducts_id=6426

80A Hobbywing ESC - $88 http://www.helidirect.com/product_i...roducts_id=4393

hobbywing program card - $12 http://www.helidirect.com/product_i...roducts_id=4406

BEC - $14.99 http://www.helidirect.com/product_i...roducts_id=1157

HS-422 servo's - $12.49 ea http://www.helidirect.com/product_i...roducts_id=2306

Telebee gyro - $59.99 http://www.helidirect.com/product_i...products_id=494

Male deans connector - $1.10 http://www.helidirect.com/product_i...roducts_id=1049

Total - $606.02

That order will get free shipping from heli direct,
Then order from hobbycity

Zippy 5S1P 4000mAh - $98.80 https://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity...35C_Lipoly_Pack

IMax B5 charger - $49.99 https://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity...arger_1-5_Cells

Charger power supply - $17.50 https://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity...?idProduct=6477

Total without shipping $166.29 (shipping would prob be around $30)

So you could figure about $802.31 for everything you need, assuming you're starting from scratch. And this is the set-up I use so I know it works.
The white one is the one with the parts listed above except that it uses a semi-metal kit instead of a plastic kit, but the Red one is the plastic kit and currently as it sits without the battery cost me $510 to build and fly. Fly's pretty damn good if I do say so myself.

ESky said they are redesigning a few features but will be rolling out an updated version in a few months. I'm sure they will because its a really popular heli for the size. Once they start sending them out, the E-Smart will just gain even more popularity.

I'm glad they are going to keep it. I have been bouncing back and forth between getting an ES600 or a Trex 600. I'm leaning now toward the ES 600 because of the kind of flying I'm interested in. smiley-happy088 Kind of slow and easy, trying to leaen pinpoint landings and stuff. I just was worried that I would get one now and then not be able to get parts later. The kit I'm looking at is the one at KA Planes, and they seem to have all the parts you need in stock. Plus I know I can depend on my hero Nutcaze to help me out on the build. Also I think Fatdaddy's knowledge will be handy too. smiley-happy088

Most of the talk on the RCG site is about lack of part support- namely main gears.

A lot of guys are talking T-REX 600GF, $350 at rons heloproz south youn need $50 blades too.

My e-smart was about $115 shipped (no motor) . I bought a used 1650KV Align 600 motor and esc for about $120. I am running the 520 woodies on a 4s pack. it flies great.

I have not crashed it yet but the reason I got it was cheap parts.

He's popular already and i am one of his greatest fans, and why?
Because he did fly for the first time today. I just did 2 adjustments (tail & mainbladetracking) and than the first try. Just hovering for 30 seconds. And so stable and powerfull, oh man,with a strong wind. orange72

Considering that the ES600 has had no less than 10 versions, and plus the debacle that NUTTCAZE encountered with confusion over renumbering them with some questionable retailers, I'd like some advice on this:

I've found a model EK5H-E002K, claiming to be the ALL METAL version, posting nice pix of metal Blade grips, fly-bar saddle, swash plate, and at least part of the tail (maybe all, if some of the metal is black).

They want $189 plus $23 shipping. Should I step up to the swash plate and take a swing at this?

Here's the breakdown given in the ad:

EK5H-E002D:All-metal edition Electric helicoper;
EK5H-E002K:All-metal edition Electric helicoper+Brushless power;
EK5H-E002N:All-metal edition Electric helicoper(without blade);
EK5H-E002M:All-metal edition Electric helicoper+Brushless power(without blade);

Apparently, these are the models available after the number was reduced from 10 versions to 4.

What do say, Mark? Am I happy with this model?

Thanks,

Mick

There are 4 different models of the E-Smart, all the rest of the numbers are just to define what the kit includes but this is what the basic kits are

EK5H-001 - Plastic Edition
EK5H-002 - Metal Edition
EK5H-003 - Carbon Fiber Edition
EK5h-004 - Semi-Metal Edition

I say get the kit, or try and get a Carbon Fiber kit from Ebay for a little more. But no matter what kit you get, you'll love it. orange74

The funny thing about the renumbering of parts from BPHobbies, they're done that to more then just the E-Smart kit, I have other parts where they wrote new numbers on the package trying to change the product, I was showing Fatdaddy earlier today.

Are we still doing this? Or am I the only one?

Here's my latest email to E-SKy:

Please hurry up with the production of the E-smart. It is your best helicopter.

And tell the world of RC helis that you have competition for the align in the 600 class. People should know that with an upgrade to the main gear and the tail fin, and possibly the skids, the E-sky E-smart is just as good as the Align T-Rex 600.

The reason I say, "tell the world," is that most people are familiar with E-sky as a maker of entry level helicopters. But the E-sky is ANYTHING BUT an entry level model. It is an advanced, high quality, low-cost, exciting helicopter that could easily win competitions.

Tell people!

I'll do the same by spreading the word to my friends. I own one E-smart already and plan on buying many more in the years to come.

Take Care For Now;

Mick

Oh believe me I'm still working on getting the word out about the E-Smart. Here are 2 vids I made 2 weeks ago about it, together they have almost 1000 views

Also, pretty much all of my new videos will show the E-Smart from now on, like my Belt CP V2 video guide, each of the first 3 vids shows the E-Smart and I tell everyone what it is. Those 3 videos have been viewed almost 4000 times. I told the folks at ESky this. They know I'm working on getting the word out. But we can't stop e-mailing them. Not till the E-Smart and its parts are in stock in stores.

Thanks for your time in e-mailing them orange74

You all know I hope they do something fast because I have a esmart that wont fly
due to bad esky parts.

If they start up a new Esmart hopfully parts quality will be better. I know I am the
only unhappy Esmart owner on this forum so I am the ugly duckling. Only because
so many others are happy with this heli do I think there is hope.

Untill the new release and just incase of no release I am forced to try parts from other helis. We all may be forced to try other parts. Right now I have no choice and will be try'n to install a CNC head from the Gaui 550 hurricane. Should be here soon.

I have allready used Trex 600 parts and swift 620e parts. Gaui parts next....

I think it's a good idea to try other parts. I fact, it would be a good idea to start a thread listing any E-Smart compatable parts that any of us find.

Such as, I think the G-Smart main gear is the same. Is that right?

PostSubject: Parts   E_Sky E-Smart (ES600) Thread I_icon_minitimeTue Aug 04, 2009 9:46 pm

Most all the drive parts are the same!! Only main frame and engine and clutch and of course the fuel tank are diff.. The "G" uses 520 rotor blades, 608 tail boom, same as the plastic version of the "E" All the tail parts are the same. The "G" comes with a plastic head and tail, this also means small feathering shaft. Compleatly diff. swash in that the anti-rotation pin does not have a servo to it, so sadly the metal swash from the "E" won't work with the "G"(which was my plan)... I have already switched to the metal tail and some metal parts in the head like the wash out assy. I also will be going with a CF boom at some time.I'm not sure if I will use a 632 or use a slightly broken one cut down to 608.. This will all depend on what I do about the motor, its quite small for a heli this size, so it is NO where as powerful as the "E"!!!!

Im just not sure of the best way to do it.
Really we could use this thread,but I dont know.
It would be a list of what people are using i.e. servos, esc,etc....
and the known parts that fit that are not for this heli.

I am game for that!

And it should be free of other posts, just comments about the particular part you list. That way it won't get cluttered and will be simple to follow.

Maybe Nutz will weigh in on this.

I think this could be an invaluable source of info to help us all keep our E-Smarts in the air.

I want to find a longer tail belt so that I can use the longer tail boom from the Century Swift 620 and then the ES600 would truly be a "600"

I can just add a list of compatible parts on my first post of this thread. Just let me know what to add, or someone can always make a thread about just that.

Maybe you could start a thread just for E-Smart compatable parts and their part number and where they can be bought, and we could all just add to it as we discover new parts that fit.

With a couple of rules to help keep the clutter to a minimum.
