Hi there.
I may confuse my own damn self asking this question, but here goes:
I use both 1800 mAh and 2200 mAh 11.1 volt bats for my Belt Cp v2...both with a discharge rate of 20C. I've noticed different batteries on the market have different discharge rates such as 10C, 12C, 15C, 20-25C...Are there advantages/disadvantages or more importantly DANGERS of choosing any discharge rate?? Common sense tells me to stick with 20C, but bats with lower discharg rates seem cheaper. I like hot heli's, but not FLAMING hot. atomic

I've always looked at "C" ratings like Fuel Injectors for a Car, higher the "C" rating the easier it will be to deliver full power to the motor, lower "C" ratings are like fuel injectors for a sub compact

not sure if that made sense but it did in my mind, lol Crazysmile

Does that mean that if you flew a heli with a lower C rate batt, and then flew the same heli the same exact way with a higher C rate batt, the higher C rate batt would be cooler?

The C means how many Amps can battery deliver. Example: Motor uses 20A at full power. And you have 2ah (2000mah) 10c battery. So 2ah*10c=20A. So you can run that motor with this battery, but it is highly not recommended. Using battery at its full power will greatly decrease battery life and it will not instantly deliver full power. But if you have 2ah (2000mah) 20C battery it can deliver 40A (2Ah*20C=40A) so you can run motor with that battery without worries. I recommend to use battery with atleast 1.5 times more powerful than the motor is orange74
In short: The more C the better battery is orange6
