HBFP 2.4Ghz or HBFP 72Mhz Empty
PostSubject: HBFP 2.4Ghz or HBFP 72Mhz   HBFP 2.4Ghz or HBFP 72Mhz I_icon_minitimeMon Jul 20, 2009 12:35 am

I'm about to buy my first heli and did some major researching the past two weeks. (that's how I stumbled across your website Nuttcaze....and glad I did)

My question is as a newbie would it really matter if I get the 2.4g or 72mhz?

This is what companies are offering:

xheli.com
HBFP 2.4g (E500YA) --- battery ???--- $136.95

RC711.com HBFP 2.4g (EK1H-E500WA) --- 8.4V-650mAh Ni-MH --- free FSM $129.00

ka-planes.com HBFP 72mhz (EK1H-E004A-LP) --- 800 mAh LiPoly w/balancer/charger $94.99

xheli.com HBFP 72mhz Mk-3 (ESKY004LA-Lipo) --- 2cell Lipo 800mAh --- free FSM $97.95

helidirect.com HBFP 72mhz (EK1H-E004A) --- 8.4V-650mAh Ni-MH $84.99[u]

$30.00 more for the 2.4g is it worth it? All includes shipping. The are many different model numbers and packages that it's becoming confusing. With the experience of other fliers can anyone recommend the best bargin?

The 2.4g is out of stock everywhere and xheli.com said about 4-6 weeks. Not sure if I want to wait that long but if it's a better Heli, I will wait.

Thanks for your help

Just my two cents worth. I've had my HBFP (72mHz) for about 6 months, and I love it. I have learned a lot flying it. If I had it to do over, I think I would go with the 2.4G model as the 72 is a great little heli, but it is a bit twitchy and I think the 2.4G system solves that and would make it an even better trainer. Chief was at the Funfly this weekend and he has a 2.4G model, and it flys a bit smoother than mine.
